Red Ford attracts looks, awards at shows
Virgil Koppenheffer, recon specialist, couldn't be any happier in his classic Ford T-bird. He and his wife have restored the vehicle.
When Virgil Koppenheffer looks at his pride and joy he not only smiles ear to ear but he can see himself in her shiny reflection. Koppenheffer, Briggs recon specialist, bought his 1978 Ford T-bird in December 2001. Since then, he has recovered the interior leather and carpet, repainted the entire T-bird body and bought a rechromed bumper.
Koppenheffer and his wife, Silvia, often take their street rod to vintage car shows all around the state.
“Once you’ve been to a car show you know you love it if you get hooked,” he said. “We love the enjoyment of showing our car to others.”
One of Koppenheffer’s dreams is to take his car to the Street Rod Nationals in Pueblo, Co.
“Over 2,000 cars show up, I hope we win,” he said.
