Prepare your car for winter

For some, we’ve had a sneak preview of winter. There’s no doubt it’s on its way. Before more chilly air and wintery driving conditions become the norm, make sure your vehicle is prepared.

Check out specials at Briggs Service Centers in northeast Kansas to help get your vehicle ready for Jack Frost.

Winter Auto Maintenance
Winter doesn’t just bring extra driving hazards, but the change in weather can also take its toll on your car’s systems. Freezing temperaturess, salted roads and wintery precipitation can damage your vehicle without proper maintenance.

  • Check your antifreeze
Your antifreeze is essential to your car’s winter protection. Your car contains a 50/50 mix of water and antifreeze. We’ll make sure the level is full and the mixture is right.

  • Inspect your tires
Balding tires a big safety issue, especially in the winter. We’ll check the tread depth and tire pressure, which decreases in cold whether.

  • Replace your wipers
Windshield wipers ensure you have a clear view of the road. Not only do you need them to clean snow and rain off your windshield, but you’ll also face the soupy muck from sand and salt on the road. Keep your wipers in top shape to keep your windshield clean and safe. (Briggs Subaru has 15% off wipers through 11/30/09).

  • Check your windshield washer fluid
Washer fluid goes hand in hand with good wipers. Other vehicles can kick up a lot of muck that make it difficult to see through the windshield. We’ll make sure your fluid is topped off and ready for the weather ahead.
