Thanks to everyone who donated supplies for Haiti in January and February! Briggs Auto teamed up with community businesses to help collect supplies for Haiti after it was struck with a devastating earthquake. Hundreds of Manhattan community members brought non-perishable food and medical supplies to six business drop-off points to be shipped to the Double Harvest hospital outside Port-au-Prince, Haiti.
Double Harvest is a non-profit organization established in 1981. The organizatino has a medical center, schooling, water wells, on-site farming and other skill training for the Haitian people. The Manhattan Surgical Team frequently travels to Haiti and carries out medical-surgical missions.
Double Harvest operating rooms have changed the lives of many hundreds of Haitian people. Double Harvest receives support from local hospitals such as Mercy Regional Health Center and Manhattan Surgical Hospital, pharmaceutical companies and businesses. Double Harvest fortunately escaped most damage from the earthquake but they have been depleted of their medical supplies.

Thanks to the other business partners who helped with the drive: Orscheln’s Farm and Home, Waters True Value, Sherwin Williams, Ray’s Apple Market and Manhattan Town Center.
