The Blue Moon Midnight Madness Softball Tournament was held at Sacco Softball Complex on 24 June 2011. The tournament started at 6 pm with a total of 18 teams, 3 civilian teams and 15 military teams, each team consisting of 12-14 players. We ran the tournament throughout the night ending at 6:30 am. Most the soldiers said this tournament was fitting for them, that it basically came down to survival of the fittest. We had a lot of people that stayed throughout the night to support the players. As the dawn broke so did a thunderstorm. The championship game was called at the top of the 4th inning due to lightening with a final score of 9-4. The tournament was won by the civilian team, Spider Monkeys.The second place team went to team Diligent, of 701st BSB.The third place team went to War Dawgs from 300th MP Co.
